Where to ski with a disability in Pennsylvania
We were first introduced to adaptive ski in Vermont. It was an incredible experience, but it left me wishing we could find something like that closer to home. After doing some research, not only did I find adaptive ski in Pennsylvania, but it seems each year there are more mountains offering adaptive ski options. Adaptive ski programs in Pennsylvania offer incredible opportunities for individuals with disabilities to experience the joy of skiing, making PA a prime destination for accessible winter sports.
The following ski mountains offer a variety of adaptive ski options, from two track skiers with visual or hearing impairments or those that have mild deficits in their motor skills, PTSD, autism or learning disabilities, to a variety of sit-ski options for all ability levels. Camelback Resort – Adaptive Ski and Snowboarding
Camelback Resort, in partnership with the Pennsylvania Center for Adapted Sports, stands out as a top adaptive ski PA destination, offering lessons for skiers of all abilities, including those using sit-skis and other adaptive equipment.
Skiing and snowboarding lessons are available for people with disabilities of all levels and abilities, ages 5 and up. Certified instructors use the latest teaching approaches.

Hidden Valley Resort – Adaptive Ski
Three Rivers Adaptive Sports offers Saturday lessons at Hidden Valley Resort, with additional lesson options available by private reservation to meet the unique needs of each participant, reinforcing its reputation as one of the best adaptive ski spots in PA. Advanced reservations are required.  Reservations must be made no less than two weeks before the scheduled weekend adaptive ski program.
Skiers must complete all required information forms, releases, and submit no less than two weeks in advance of the desired weekend ski program.

Jack Frost Adaptive Snow Sports
The Adaptive Ski Program at Jack Frost provides people with disabilities and/or special needs the opportunity to experience a variety of snow sports.
They offer exciting opportunities for all skier levels, from beginners to experts five years of age and older. It is recommended that the student consult their physician or physical therapist before registering. Registration required.

Liberty Mountain Resort – Adaptive Ski
Blue Ridge Adaptive Snow Sports, Inc. (BRASS) is a nonprofit (501(c)(3)) organization and a chapter of Move United. Their mission is to enhance the lives of people with disabilities through adaptive snow sports and recreational activities. They achieve this by offering adaptive ski and snowboard instruction for people with disabilities at Liberty Mountain Resort in the form of visually impaired/CI, stand-up skiing, or sit-down skiing with the use of special equipment.
Whitetail – Adaptive Ski and Snowboarding
Operating out of Whitetail, Two Top is one of the nation’s newest adaptive sports programs providing recreational activities and teaching sports to mentally and physically challenged children and adults.
